Documentaries
Throughout the course of my career I have found myself doing Documentaries anywhere from a documentary on a church to a famous celebrity. Documentaries were and still are my passion because it allows the cinematographer to capture the individuals story or even a certain object's story whether its in a street in Cuba or a street in Beverly Hills everyones story is unique and some even have stories that can win awards if done correctly. Documentaries are typically and generally about a person, place or thing a "noun". This person, place, or thing is typically described and has a story to go a long with it. That story has to be brought out through the imagery used in the video which is one of my most favorite parts because of the risk in it. The risk of it being a hit or miss in which the entire video could come out looking good from the shoot or a complete disaster without a beginning.

EOS: Week 7

EOS: Week 7

Through out my career I have been successful in several fields. From creating my first high school film to even a little farther back in time when I first I started editing. I have always had one goal targeted in mind and that was to further my career even more or to leave a mark in my work leaving it memorable for the employer.

I am a cinematographer and much like a photographer they all have to look for gigs to start. Well, for myself that wasn’t the case and it seemed like the gigs always found me. Ever since my first official music video being released, I had the opportunity to market myself. My most recent achievements came from the risk of taking a risk in shooting a professional shoot in which I did not think I could do a lone yet I achieved them all a lone. Throughout the most recent achievements I have managed to shoot a few events in some major Casinos here in town as well as Musical festivals, Concerts, and several other types of events. Being only 20 years of age not many 20 year old have done nearly as much, so I view that as my achievement.

For the future of my career progression I plan to graduate as a major an accomplishment. That is one of my next goals as well as in attempt at obtaining best in show with my portfolio. As for my long-term goals I figured I would take it as it comes with one goal in mind being a Filmmaker as well an entrepreneur. I plan on graduating and staying in town for about 5 years to establish a reputation here from what I already have and allow myself to slowly expand into LA and San Francisco. One of my key factors is the connection ill make during my career within the next few years. During events I meet several people who want photography or video depending on the event some end up being very notorious while others are just regular people that could potentially know someone with a bigger name.

EOC: Week 5

Midterm – Whatever Works
“Whatever Work” a film about a woman who moves to New York and finds herself. Sometimes that extra move towards your own life as an individual really is crucial to forming your dreams or what you have set for your path. This woman moved to New York and finds herself; she married an older man who in my opinion was very self-centered. She herself played the roll of a simple minded inexperienced young woman in which her actions in the film can be studied as a personal references to each individual. The actor that approached her showed the perfect way to approach a woman, taking more risk than anything in the conversation. Being that what he said wouldn’t generally be said unless some sort of attraction was established the man went into this saying that he had fallen in love with her from the first sight that he had seen her. We had only seen a small portion of the film, but what we had seen can be studied. The man took more risk towards talking to the woman and the woman being as simple minded. Being that she was married, she had already established a life for herself although not a very great life.
From Whatever Works the Actor took risks to get what he wanted which was to get the woman that he had fallen in love with at first sight. Life’s about taking those extra risks in order to achieve what you would like to achieve to the best of your capability. After graduating here in Las Vegas, I planned to move on towards California. I feel in California I already established a small name for myself doing small jobs in Hollywood and meeting a few good connections. My dream as well as my friends is to go to Hollywood and establish something of our self through our work. So what we had decided to do was to move there with no plan but to be prepared with work and resumes to show. Taking a risk moving somewhere that we have nothing in but the push and passion towards our dreams. Originally we discussed on sleeping in the car for one week, going to California and giving it our best shot. But with the investment that I had put towards this dream I took on a night job knowing that a year from now ill be graduating and a year from now I will be eligible to transfer states. Taking a risk at jeopardizing my school work I realized in the film industry you have to take risks and an “A” average wont win me my dream career job. The Actor took risks to get the woman he fell in love with and I am taking a risk at having no time but a plan towards my future and that’s how far I am willing to go. I plan to use the job I have now to transfer to California with a “Job” to fund myself while I go out and take risks at reaching to these Studios.

EOC: Devil Wears Prada - Deeper meaning

EOC: Week 4 - Devil Wears Prada - Deeper meaning
In the Devil Wears Prada, at least for the first few scenes we had the chance to watch their were several on screen representations of what not to do in an interview. The person going into this "job" interview went into it as just a job to get to where she wants to be ultimately in her career as a journalist. With no interest in fashion she was very unprepared for the job. Their are several jobs like that that I have gone to where I just dressed nice to impress the representative but in the end have ended up over dressing for a job. So in a way research on going to a job interview is very crucial. Being that she was very lucky to get the job at a Vogue as an assistant to a very important person was very beneficial to her career even if she was too blind to see it at first. This job helped her gain the skills to better herself towards the career she's trying to get ultimately which is Journalism. The true meaning was truly that you have to be prepared for any job and you have to live with the job working your way towards your career. What you do is important and every step you take is just one more towards your goals even if it means researching on the dress code for that job to have a successful interview.

EOC: Week 3 Swingers

In the Swingers there were several lessons to be learned. Several useful ones you can use throughout your social life as well as some personal life lessons. One of main characters had a lot of drag going on in his life and that drag caused his life to just be average. He wasn't going any lower nor was he going up in life at all. His buddy one of the main stars was one of his biggest teachers. He went on into this role a little more careless about life but was actually doing pretty great at it while the other wasn't as much. Two different roles, yet it showed you two different types of ways things could be done. The character who had just broken up with his girlfriend six months ago had more of the negative standpoint on the outcomes on how no to do things or more of the learning experience. While the other character had more of a positive outcome because he had more of a careless experienced personality. Through experience, learning whats right from whats wrong slowly starts to establish itself through each individual.

“Swingers”, was a film that really showed life in a bunch of social lessons. The deeper meaning of the film was to rise with confidence and don’t let people see your weaker side all the time only in the right circumstances. One of the biggest meanings I took out of this film was that being yourself isn’t always a bad thing in reality being the truest form of your self makes you a stronger individual to others and it doesn’t make you so average instead it makes you Unique to the individual you speak with. Getting out of your head and onto what you have accomplished towards what your dreams are was a big lesson in this toward the ending.
